General Draza Mihailovich Honored

During World War II, many American pilots were downed by German fighters. Many of these pilots were rescued from certain doom by General Draza Mihailovich. His efforts in the German-occupied Yugoslavia saved many American lives by smuggling them back to friendly territory.

W.W.II veterans and Serbian-Americans say Mihailovich is a hero that deserves a statue in Washington. On March 19, 1997, General Mihailovich was honored with the dedication of a bust of his likeness at the Serb National Federation home office.
